Abstract
This paper investigates the perceived influences of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on student learning advisers and how it affects their jobs and the communication with students at Victoria University of Wellington (VUW), New Zealand. The findings indicate that technologies such as email, instant messaging tools, mobile technology and VoIP have tremendously impacted on student learning advisers’ jobs and on the way they communicate with students. The paper concludes with a summary of the findings and recommendations for future research.
